It’s been a long time since we were first alerted to Persimmon’s plans to destroy the Hawber Cote fields. Bradford Council have asked Persimmon to provide further information and to make some alterations to their proposals. The main thing to note is that they now propose an additional vehicle access point to the site from Hawber Cote Lane, next to the school entrance. The road layout is also set up to provide links to yet more land to the east, towards yet more possible houses and the mythical eastern bypass.
We know that hundreds of you have taken the time and trouble to write to Bradford Council setting out your concerns about the proposal. Unfortunately these are all hidden from view under Bradford’s policy, so we are entirely reliant on the planning case officer to ‘summarise’ all of the comments.
The application will be decided by Bradford Council’s Regulatory and Appeals committee but we won’t know until a few days beforehand, which meeting this will be. The next scheduled meetings are 24th November and 15th December. You might want to consider attending at City Hall and we will let you know as soon as a date is confirmed.
